Art We Love :: The Free Store / DoubleAProjects

If you’re as idealistic as we are at FWL, then you’ll love this exhibit by Athena Robles and Anna Stein of DoubleAProjects. If you’ve always wondered why we accept a monetary system that is only based on theory and only worth what the “system” deems appropriate, then check out the “Free Store where everyone has currency!” Yes, you heard right – a FREE STORE! This is the last week to visit it and experience how utopia will feel when our current illusory system collapses on itself. People leave what they no longer need and other people are welcome to take whatever they NEED without a monetary exchange. Pretty cool, right?

Athena & Anna were kind enough to bless us with a 120 Seconds which you’ll see in the upcoming weeks. Their topic was not only informative but also quite enlightening, introducing us to the concept of Generous Systems and how simple it is to practice it in our daily lives. They’ve  instantly become new, wonderfully generous friends we love.

THIS IS THE LAST WEEK!  Hours and Location Free Store is located at 99 Nassau Street, New York, NY (between Fulton and Ann Streets). The store will be open until March 22, 2009.

Exhibition hours are Thursday–Sunday, 12–5PM and by appointment.

To get there by subway, take the 4, 5, 6, J, M, Z to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall or Fulton/Broadway-Nassau Street; or A, C, 2, 3 to Broadway-Nassau Street.
