artists we love :: sherisa vassel, l’elephant rose

Synchronicity is a wonderful thing especially when it leads you to discover an artist and their work. That’s pretty much how I came across Sherisa Vassel who designs & creates all the jewelery and accessories on her site L’Elephant Rose. She designs and hand makes all the wonderful little treats. Here’s a bit more about Sherisa & her vision…

“My design philosophy is rooted in a celebration of versatility, sustainability and ethnic individuality. I’m mostly influenced by stories from my childhood, nature and femininity. Add to that a dose of French romanticism and passion. I give great credit to my ability to daydream and being encouraged to do so from an early age. It helps to keep myself and everything affecting my life fresh.

I currently live in Brooklyn, New York. I look forward to the future of L’élephant Rose as I prepare for marriage and a transcontinental move to Holland in 2010 to raise my imaginary duck with my now fiance.” (Via L’Elephant Rose)
