docs we love :: estilo hip hop

Last night, a few of my friends and I stepped out to support my partner in crime, Mike Vargas, who shot this dope documentary, Estilo Hip Hop. Vee Bravo & Loira Limbal, who produced and directed this gem, held a lively Q&A exchange afterward. In case you missed it, look out for it on PBS in the next few months. – Moni Pineda

* Estilo Hip Hop is a documentary that chronicles the emergence of hip hop in Brazil, Chile, Cuba and the regional politics that underscore its existence. Within the vast breathtaking landscapes, we meet Guerrillero Okulto, Eli Efi, and Magia, three hip hop enthusiasts who firmly believe that hip hop can change the world. As we delve into their lives, we learn about the movements they lead and the personal price they pay because of their political stance.
