Exhibits We Love :: Free Emporium & Gift Exchange

Free Emporium & Gift Exchange is a new exhibit by artists  Athena Robles & Anna Stein of Double A Projects especially designed for the Cuchifritos space in perfect timing for the holiday season. At this interactive exhibit you can bring unused gifts and exchange them for other unused gifts, take a look at original works of art and give your response to the whole experience. It is a “franchise” of the Global Free Store and continues the work of Double A Projects  to examine alternative systems of support.

“The Global Free Store and its emporium is a roving, artist-run collaborative project based on demonstrating principles of generosity, self-sustainability and a gift economy in art. The debut incarnation of Global Free Store on Nassau Street attracted worldwide press and TV coverage in March 2009.
