I’ve had the pleasure of working on location at two of John Lautner‘s homes this year and left completely inspired and somewhat mystified by his vision and utter brilliance. He marries each house to nature – rocks, cliffs, water, trees, flowers all cohabit beautifully within these magical spaces and while inside, nature feels grand.
This year marks what would have been Lautner’s 100th birthday and there’s a list of events, screenings and exhibits to celebrate his work. If you’re not familiar with Lautner, take a look at this stunning documentary, Infinite Space by Murray Grigor. By the way, the Elrod House is on sale for a cool $14M in case you’re in the market. – Moni Vargas
