Growing up a skateboarder, I was fortunate enough to be around 14 years old when Powell Peralta’s “The Search For Animal Chin” was released. In short, Animal Chin was a movie about a group of skateboarders known as The Bones Brigade, who travel around California, Nevada, and Hawaii to different skate spots in search of a wizened old man, Won Ton “Animal” Chin. They never actually find Chin but conclude that in searching for him, they found his spirit. Translation: Just skate + fun times will follow.
Since then, skateboard videos have suffered the same course of pornography. Plenty of action. No story.
That was until MACHOTAILDROP came along…

Machotaildrop is a highly visual and fantastical journey about an amateur skateboarder, Walter Rhum, who realizes his dream of turning pro and riding for the world’s greatest skateboard company… Machotaildrop. Set in an anachronistic time and place, Machotaildrop is the greatest skateboard company of its day and the regal and grand sport of skateboarding has been thriving for many generations.
