music we love :: sade’s first single in 10 yrs “soldier of love”

coverDecember 8, 2009 is the day we’ve been waiting for 10 years, Sade’s new title track from her upcoming album, “Soldier of Love” was released today. The minute we heard it we couldn’t stop listening to it. It was immediately on repeat. The lyrics are vulnerable yet strong, the drums prepare you for battle, the guitar provides a dark texture while her voice silky and assured, connect you to your own Soldier of Love.

The song was written by Sade and her band members Stuart Matthewman, Andrew Hale & Spencer Denman and co-produced by Mike Pela. The anticipation for the album which drops on February 8th, 2010 will be difficult to rein in. For updates and more information, make sure to check back with us or visit Sade.com.

Exactly! I have a photo of Monte Alban where it almost looks the same. Beautiful sight, beautiful voice.

so happy to hear this.. one of my favorite artists ever!! great sound.. wondering if the mayan-like ruins on the cover are a reference to the mayan caledar and 2012…

    • Yes. We’re happy too! Great observation on the Mayan ruins. You’ve got a valid point. Her necklace also reminds me of a Masai warrior princess or a rather a Masai soldier of love :D
