Music Videos We Love :: Soil & Pimp Sessions, Pop Korn

I caught Soil & Pimp‘s NY debut a few years ago and they absolutely blew me away. It was a jazz show for our generation – vibrant, full of energy executed by highly skilled & talented mad men who commanded their instruments, the stage & all of us in the crowd. Soon it was termed “Death Jazz” which is a fitting description as the frenzy of their show is closer to a death metal gig than a languid, jazz joint.

This is their new video from “6,” their sixth studio album on Gilles Peterson‘s Brownswood Recordings. Look out for a limited edition release of the single on April 12, 2010 and the full album on April 26th. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have & if you get a chance to see them live, DO IT!
