I just got off the phone with one of my favorite long-time homeboys, Manny P. As always. the brother got me hyped! Manny has been a constant stream of inspiration from the jump- If it wasn’t on a skateboard, then it was on a canvas. If it wasn’t on a canvas, then it was on the dance floor. If it wasn’t on the dance floor, then it was on a surf board – you get the idea…
A couple of years ago Manny packed up all his life possessions and moved from Willy B, to the Aloha Country – HAWAII. There Manny continued to evolve. Quickly, all of his creative outlets began feeding off one another. His time in the water surfing, materialized into a series of “Aloha” paintings. His time on skateboard bombing the hillside, led to creating Roll Skateboards. All along the way, capturing all this creativity in a series of videos, sketches and paintings.
Luckily for the people of Honolulu, Manny took a job as art director of the Honolulu Weekly (Kind of like the Village Voice of Hawaii). It was there that Manny set out on his next quest- THE PRINT WORLD. Over the next year, Manny began illustrating many of the newspapers covers. Every now and then, I’d get a JPEG of his latest cover and just be OPEN.
Recently, Manny began expressing a desire to launch his own zine. Something authentic that would appeal to all of his interests – skateboarding, surfing and art. Before he could say “IT’S ON BITCHES!”… RKTR was born.
It is with great pleasure that I introduce….. MANNY P. + RKTR

“What started as a quick and dirty zine, is turning out to grow into something more involved.”
