Shorts We Love :: PIXELS

Thank God a crazy thing called technology came along and turned the minds of some incredibly talented people inside out. I mean a game of Pong taking out the Brooklyn Bridge? Come one son, who does that?
Videos We Love :: Brush the Heat, Little Dragon

Not only do we love Little Dragon but we also love that Yukimi’s dad, Yusuke Nagano, animated their new video, Brush the Heat. Yukimi posted that he and his partner, Olga Nikoulina, filmed the band in his office basement and then “worked real hard to make this work without budget n all, they created this video as always surreal n funny.”
Kickstarter We Love :: Andrew: Story of a Closet Monster

Our friend and past FWL contributor, Elliot Lobell, is working on his senior film, Andrew: Story of a Closet Monster. He has a Kickstarter set up for the project and although he reached his goal, as we all know, films are expensive – especially when you’re dealing with stop-motion animation. So, if you’re inspired by his work, pledge what you can and help spread the word! – Moni Pineda
Stop-Motion We Love :: Benjamin Ducroz

Melbourne artist Benjamin Ducroz creates beautiful stop-motion films through his paintings, drawings and sculptures. His sense of movement and form draws you into a visual ride of his imagination. Put on your seat belt and enjoy! – Moni Pineda
Videos We Love :: AIDES Graffiti

With funding for AIDS heavily decreasing, it’s important to spread the awareness of the disease by any means possible. This funny little bathroom-graffiti-inspired animated commercial directed by Yoann Lemoine and presented by AIDES suggests that you can still have fun while being safe!
Artists We Love :: Lizzi Akana

I stumbled upon animator, Lizzi Akana on the Animation Block Party website, and she immediately captured my attention. Her short film, Marvelous, Keen Loony Bin is one of the craziest animated shorts I’ve seen in a while. She directed and animated it as her thesis film while attending RISD. The film is filled with insanely imaginative creatures and objects that epitomize the reason I love animation. Lizzi Akana is an up-and-coming animator, but she’s definitely someone I’d keep my eye on.
Videos We Love :: Parkour Motion Reel

Here’s an awesome, unique look at parkour, more commonly known as free-running. Artist Serene Teh takes the concept of the old fashioned flip book to a whole new level with this short film following a free-runner through an urban landscape.
