With a line up like that, you’re bound to get the jazzy, soulful sound we’ve come to love along with the deep bass headnod that we can’t live without. Music We Love :: Ty, Special Kind of Fool
I first heard of Ty in the early aughts when he put out a dope broken beat single with his smart rhymes on Ubiquity Records. Soon after that his name would magically come up from different friends & colleagues. We met a few years back at WMC and since he’s kept me updated with all of his great collaborations & releases. This leads me to his new album, Special Kind of Fool which is coming out in late April. But don’t fret! The first single, Emotions, is out next week and it features Shaun Escoffery (whom I love) and Sarina Leah. It also boasts a healthy list of remixes by some of my favorite producers – Waajeed (PPP), Dego (4Hero) and Daz-I-Que (Bugz in the Attic). Two of my favorite producers, Orin Walters & Phil Asher, are killing it with their new collaboration, Black & Spanish. If you don’t know these two masterminds by name, you’ll definitely know Orin’s work in Bugz in the Attic & Phil’s Restless Soul. Their new track No Compromise has the Latin house beat that’s making my hips shake right now, a rebellious sample from one of my favorite films, Network, and an unstoppable groove that will have hands up in the air and baby powder on the floor. Big up!!
