David Ellis will be presenting new works at his latest exhibit, Mola Salsa at New Image Art in Santa Monica. After seeing a few of the images, I immediately thought of reptilians and ‘transformers’ wrecking havock in a war of good against evil. Please interpret at will and join us for the reception on Saturday, February 5, 2011, 7-10pm. – Moni Vargas

Street artist David Ellis can take any plain surface and single-handedly turn it into a number of amazing, improvised murals. Check out this awesome time-lapse as he creates a kinetic, fast-paced, constantly changing work of art.

Since our Barnstormers post has gotten so much love, I decided to search for new videos and sure enough I found one I’d never seen before! This one takes place during an artists’ residency at The Contemporary Museum in Honolulu and features David Ellis, Mike Houston, Che Jen, Sasu, Kiku & Kami. The title Scrounge makes me think that they’re creating this artwork with found materials, but I could be wrong. I’ll inquire & get back to you. In the meantime, enjoy!
