Education We Love :: 1-2-1 w/jeffstaple for REDU Homeroom

At some point in our lives we all have to define ourselves when something rubs us the wrong way. There are some who roll-up their sleeves and go head-first focused on change, while the others sit-back complaining and waiting for someone else to do the work. Thankfully, Jeff Staple has been letting his inspirations of education reform motivate him to roll-up his sleeves and do his part on making some changes.

World Up teamed up with the IRC (theirc.org) for the 2nd year of their Refugee Youth Summer Academy. We brought in guest artists La Bruja (Puerto Rico / Bronx), Bajah and the Dry Eye Crew (Sierra Leone), Blitz the Ambassador (Ghana) and more. We worked with the students on Literacy, Acculturation, and Creative Writing and had an amazing and successful summer with all of the students producing a piece they then performed at their final graduation ceremony.
