In case you haven’t heard about Alexander McQueen exhibit at the MET, Savage Beauty, we thought we’d share a bit of brilliance with you. The exhibit juxtaposes themes of his past collections in cinematic environments that reflect the conceptual vision for each runway show. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has compiled an extensive array of videos from runway shows, a beautiful video tour of the exhibit, photos and writings for online viewing as well as events and lectures around McQueen’s gorgeous artistic contributions. The Brooklyn Museum’s Target First Saturdays event attracts thousands of visitors to free programs of art and entertainment each month. Visitors to June’s event are invited to dress in their most stylish outfits in celebration of the special exhibition American High Style: Fashioning a National Collection. Highlights of the evening include a swing era jazz performance by the J. C. Hopkins Biggish Band, a vogue dance contest hosted by Archie Burnett of the House of Ninja, a performance by Evidence Dance Company, a screening of the film Funny Face starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire, and a house and soul dance party with DJ Moni of Friends We Love.

Luxirare is one of those sites that sparks my imagination, makes me highly inquisitive and keeps me coming back for more. But how could I not with the tag line “Killer Clothes + Fine Cuisine”! This weekly webzine takes you through the creative process and execution of decadently beautiful recipes and sinfully gorgeous clothing design by way of crisp photography and witty entries that include the bits of inspiration that birth each project. My mouth often waters and my eyes melt in pure delight.
Here’s a couple of my favorites: the “bento box” (edible art with great design, color, texture & flavor) + the “chain jacket” inspired by the YSL cage boots (simply sexy). I hope these photos peak your interest and immediately lead you to her site. You won’t be disappointed!
