Kickstarter We Love :: Andrew: Story of a Closet Monster

Our friend and past FWL contributor, Elliot Lobell, is working on his senior film, Andrew: Story of a Closet Monster. He has a Kickstarter set up for the project and although he reached his goal, as we all know, films are expensive – especially when you’re dealing with stop-motion animation. So, if you’re inspired by his work, pledge what you can and help spread the word! – Moni Pineda
Films We Love :: Preguntas Hermosas

When I first saw this gorgeous short film, Preguntas Hermosas by David Viau, my heart melted and I quickly watched it again, twice. Once to attentively listen to it in Spanish and the next to dive into the visual details. The story is adapted from the poems Under the Harvest Moon by Carl Sandburg and Poema X by one of my favorite poets, Pablo Neruda. Is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all? – Moni Pineda
Projects We Love :: The Economist Film Project

Got a story that needs telling? The Economist Film Project wants to help.
Videos We Love :: Vagabondage by Aaron Rose

If you feel something shoot it! I never want to hear another person say that can’t make a film because of this, that and the third. Come on SON! Aim. Focus. Click.
Kickstarters We Love :: Mac Smullen’s Dinasty

Our friend and summer ’09 intern, Mac Smullen is raising funds for his senior film at SUNY Purchase. It has a simple title: Dynasty; as well as a long, drawn-out title: Yog-Sothoth’s Cautionary Tales for Young Adults. Please watch the video below (especially the second part) and read an in-depth description by Mac himself on his Kickstarter page. He’s at 93% so if you’re inspired, make sure you donate some $$ and help make a dream & a senior film come true. – Moni Pineda
Films We Love :: Bouncing Cats by Nabil Elderkin

Just watched this trailer with my mouth wide open. Nabil is a force of nature behind a camera. Over the years, his collaborations with music’s brightest stars has brought out some of the most stunning visuals to date. Straight love the man! Happy to see him expand a story into what looks like an incredibly uplifting piece of art, music and humility. Can’t wait to see this one!!! – Jaws Truly
