Friends We Love will be regularly featuring free music from our good friends at Maxi Promotion. Maxi has been servicing the club community for 18 years with the best in dance music and now you get to enjoy some of these free promos!
The Swedish trio Junip, fronted by singer/guitarist José González, with Elias Araya on drums and keyboardist Tobias Winterkorn, are touring the U.S. now to back up their very first full-length Fields on Mute. Check out the sub-consciously, chugging Run Roc Mix of the single “Always”.

Events We Love :: FWL @ BK Museum – Feature Screening
Join us at the Brooklyn Museum to celebrate our Friends We Love Second Anniversary with a special hour-long screening of our favorite episodes. This will also serve as a farewell to our beloved NY community before we part to Los Angeles.

Events We Love :: Summer Streets
Did you miss the last two weeks of Summer Streets? This upcoming Saturday is your last chance to play, run, walk & bike with thousands of other beautiful New Yorkers from downtown to Central Park. My friend Baly Cooley invited me to bike with her a couple of weeks ago and it turned out to be one of my favorite summer days so far. Not only did we get to see our lovely city through a new perspective, but there were also plenty of activities to entertain, educate & inspire all types. The Whole Foods picnic area was perfect for a snack & next to it I even got a biking helmet FOR FREE! There were dance classes, exercise sessions, dumpster pools for a quick cooling dip and free bike valets to look after your wheels while you enjoy it all. Inspired by Bogotá, Colombia’s Ciclovia and Paris, France’s Paris Plage, Summer Streets should not be missed! – Moni Pineda
Shows We Love :: Solar-Powered Dance Series
The 6th Annual Solar-Powered Dance Series at Solar One will feature 12 up-and-coming choreographers, including my good friend and awesome dancer, Theo Boguszewski. The show will take place outdoors on an eco-stage, featuring music completely powered by the sun! There are two programs of 6 pieces each, and will be presented over two weekends. The performances are free and all-ages!
Events We Love :: Outdoor Cinema @ Socrates Sculpture Park
The Socrates Sculpture Park, in collaboration with The Museum of the Moving Image and Rooftop Films, presents Outdoor Cinema at the Socrates Sculpture Park. The month-long screening series runs through July 28th and features international films, live music, and all kinds of food, celebrating the diversity of Queens.

Here’s an awesome, unique look at parkour, more commonly known as free-running. Artist Serene Teh takes the concept of the old fashioned flip book to a whole new level with this short film following a free-runner through an urban landscape.
