Parties We Love :: thePeople, Oakland

Back in 2008 I was invited to spin at thePeople, a classic dance party in Oakland, California, and it was hands down one of the best parties I’ve ever played. So much so that I was begging to spin again after my set was over. There were REAL dancers, the ones who get sweaty, clap their hands and throw them up in the air. It was just my kind of party. The collective who organizes this monthly gathering is made up of music lovers, artists & DJs. It is hosted by Ms. Nabong and heyLove* with resident DJs Cecil, Cali and Be Brown. This month the special guest is the knob-loving, awesome French DJ producer, Simbad (whom I had the pleasure of playing with in Tokyo).
