To me, there are few better ways to spend time than going to the movies. To make things more exciting, HBO and Bryant Park are hosting a summer-long free movie series, every Monday until August 23rd. They have a great set of movies lined up for the summer, with classics from Goldfinger to 12 Angry Men. So grab your friends and head over to Bryant Park on Monday nights this summer!

My good friend Omid Fatemi sent me a teaser for Aloe Blacc’s new video, “I Need a Dollar.” It’s the song for the opening credits on “How to Make it in America” a great new series on HBO which at times seems to be entirely shot in our neighborhood. Omid’s production company, What Matters Most collaborated with Funk Factory Films on this video which should be out in the next couple of weeks. We love the song and the teaser is looking proper. Nice one.

If you ever wondered about NYC skateboarding culture at this point in time, then you need to check out this great short film released by HBO in connection with their new show “How To Make it in America”. The film dives into different chapters on the good, bad and the ugly on the allure of NYC street skating. In the video you’ll find lots of NYC’s finest from Gino Iannucci, Quim Cardona, Luis Tolentino, Billy Rohan, Steve Rodriquez and more sharing their insights and war stories… Well done HBO!
