Spots We Love :: Dos Equis x KAWS

Question: What do you get when you mix a banging mexican beer, a world reknown brooklyn based street artist and damn good music track? Answer: A sweet spot on the creative process of marketing + branding an alcoholic beverage what else? There’s no denying KAWS has come a long way from revamping bus stop adverts to co-creating his own with a major like Dos Equis. Hats off to you brother for completing the “art-vertising” cycle. Let’s hope we continue to see artists we love expanding their artistic visions out of their streets + studios and into the world. Enjoy it, it’s a good one. – Jaws Truly

Filmmakers We Love :: Ed David

A couple of weeks ago a video started floating the web entitled The Archive, about an older man who over the span of his life had amassed over 1 million records in his personal collection. Technology We Love :: Red - Scarlet Camera

I absolutely LLLLLOOOOOVVVVEEEE when a new piece of technology comes out that redefines the game, breaks the rules and blows all of our minds in the process. Most recently the world of still photography cameras, more specifically DSLR cameras, sent some shockwaves through the industry by introducing HD 1080i video capabilities under their hoods. From that point on it’s been a classic race to stimulate both our minds and pockets, with each company attempting to outdo the one another. All the big boys from Canon, Nikon, Sony to Panasonic are now offering new technologies at prices that just didn’t seem possible 2 -3 years ago.

One of the most talked about new kids on the block is the RED Scarlet camera. It’s been said that this baby is gonna change the game. With a street price just under 5K and a 3K picture quality, I say let’s the games begin…

shows we love :: maestro knows

Every now and then we come across a great new video series we can’t share fast enough. Levi Maestro’s “Maestro Knows” is that kind of video series. We came across it a couple of months back when Jeff Staple posted a video Levi made while in Japan on his blog. From there we watched one after another after another. We just loved Levi’s approach to how he documents both his travels and his subjects, which in most cases are his friends, lending the series a very natural flow. Here’s a few of our fav’s, take a look….
