Music We Love :: Sampled Room

Music We Love :: Sampled Room

What’s not to love about a musical madman who swaps musical instruments for wine glasses, wire coils, a pair of panties, and some duct tape? It’s all about the creative process and the end result, which in this case is pretty damn incredible. Good luck getting that melody out of your head- Ha!

Spots We Love :: Shaun White Skateboarding

Spots We Love :: Shaun White Skateboarding

My favorite part of growing up as a skateboarder was the ability to transform our environment into a world of limitless potential for our enjoyment. From noticing a freshly painted curb to revamping a pile of scrap wood into a portable skatepark, the world was truly ours. This incredible spot by Ubisoft/Shaun White takes the idea of visualization to a whole other level. Incredible balance between technical abilities on a board and behind a computer. Hats off to the creative team who brought this into the light… – Jaws Truly

technology we love :: dean kamen’s “luke arm”

Dean Kamen showed some video of the impressive, mind-controlled prosthetic robot arm he’s invented today at D6 in Carlsbad. Kamen has been showing the arm off since early 2007, usually via video clips like what he showed today. But today’s demonstration at D6 was impressive enough that it’s got the gadget blogs and the Twitterverse all aflutter today. Deservedly so: Kamen’s arm, dubbed “Luke” (after Skywalker, I assume), is an incredibly sophisticated bit of engineering that’s lightyears ahead of the clamping “claws” that many amputees are forced to use today. The arm is fully articulated, giving the user the same degrees of movement as a natural arm, and is sensitive enough to pick up a piece of paper, a wineglass or even a grape without mishap.
