sites we love :: luxirare

Luxirare is one of those sites that sparks my imagination, makes me highly inquisitive and keeps me coming back for more. But how could I not with the tag line “Killer Clothes + Fine Cuisine”! This weekly webzine takes you through the creative process and execution of decadently beautiful recipes and sinfully gorgeous clothing design by way of crisp photography and witty entries that include the bits of inspiration that birth each project. My mouth often waters and my eyes melt in pure delight.

Here’s a couple of my favorites: the “bento box” (edible art with great design, color, texture & flavor) + the “chain jacket” inspired by the YSL cage boots (simply sexy). I hope these photos peak your interest and immediately lead you to her site. You won’t be disappointed!

In these days of massive information overload, finding a site that digs and sifts in the endless abyss to bring you absolute dopeness is rare. Yet Marc & Sara Schiller do just that on their homage to street art, Wooster Collective. It is a daily stop for us in our search for inspiration & global awareness of what goes down on the street. Today, Wooster Collective launched their very own Youtube Channel, announcement and all. We couldn’t be happier! They’ll be curating videos on the daily to serve as a “one-stop-shop” for all your street art(ist) desires.

Take a look at their intro video, subscribe to their channel & check back with us for Marc & Sara’s 120 Seconds coming soon.

artists we love :: miru kim

One of the best aspects of doing this series is that through it we’ve been able to not only get to know our friends better but also meet new friends and artists whom we admire and inspire us. Case in point: Miru Kim. We were introduced to her work through her video presentation on TED and became instantly fascinated by her approach and overall aesthetic. Her current photography series Naked City Spleen takes place in urban ruins and structures which she discovers on exploratory missions around the world. She breathes life and humanity into these otherwise abandoned spaces by introducing herself as both subject and observer. We had endless conversations about her work (too many to mention here) and were so happy when she agreed to join us for a 120 Seconds.
