Music We Love :: Syllables – Eminem ft. Jay-Z + Dr. Dre + 50 Cent + Cashis + Stat Quo

Why not end the year with a banger in your ear…
Events We Love :: Jay-Z & Charlie Rose @ Brooklyn Museum

Events like these make me miss NYC: Jay-Z and Charlie Rose at the Brooklyn Museum discussing his highly-anticipated first book, Decoded, in front of a live audience. It was just a month ago that Mike & I were on that same stage sharing our Friends We Love docs. Fortunately PBS will air this fascinating encounter for all of us to enjoy. Decoded consists of autobiographical memoirs, interviews with friends and family and a deeper exploration of some of his most provocative, poignant and poetic lyrics. The Brooklyn Museum does a great job detailing the topics to be discussed – influences, stereotypes, socio-politics and our favorite – his creative process. Remixes We Love :: Kanye West’s “Power” ft. Jay-Z + Swizz Beatz + John Legend

This shit is straight bunkers! – Jaws Truly
Videos We Love :: Beyoncé, Why Don’t You Love Me?

This is one of the sexiest videos I’ve seen in a minute. It alludes to a time of pin ups, classic Hollywood films & 50s housewife syndrome. Beyoncé works these roles just right. The make up and styling are hot and directors Melina & Bee Z on point. Sean Carter is a very lucky man!
Music Videos We Love :: Snoop Dogg – I Wanna Rock G-Mix Ft. Jay-Z

I was gonna post this yesterday, but I thought what better way to start off a sunny weekend than with a BANGER. Snoop + Jay-Z most definitely deliver the goods. I’m loving this video + this beat is BANANASSSS! Crazy how much this video reminded me of my youth- Hip-Hop + Dancing + Arcades + Skateboarding. Nuff said. Enjoy!
Musicals We Love :: Fela! on Broadway

From the minute you walk into the theater, you’re greeted with the winding, sultry sounds of Antibalas and suddenly realize you’ve stepped into a new kind of Broadway musical. Fela! is a show where the audience is the unexpected character that is swept into the performance, dancing, singing and responding to the energy bouncing off the stage and into the aisles. What else did you expect from a show that takes place at Fela’s legendary Shrine nightclub in Lagos, Nigeria in the late ’70s?
