Although we have different ways of spending Martin Luther King Day, please take a moment today to watch and listen to the substance, courage and his ultimate fight for justice for ALL in his own words. The most relevant speech to our lives today is Beyond Vietnam / Why I Am Opposed to the Vietnam War. It urges us to reflect on our belief systems and moral standards as individuals and as a nation. It challenges policies of war, our attitude toward the poor and our ultimate responsibility to “pursue peace” and demand the same from our elected leaders.

The good folks at WNYC asked me to make a mix for their Social Mixer series and I happily obliged. This is a mix I’ve been meaning to record for some time because it has all the songs that keep me motivated when I rarely make it to the gym. It’s got some older tracks & some new goodies that make you wanna get up & move! It’s a combination of uptempo Brazilian rhythms laced with some deep bass and a touch of electro.
