Music We Love :: 35bag

It’s exciting to see that there are even more gems to be found in Sweden. A young, fresh producer by the name of 35bag is continuing the recent onslaught of soul with his dope productions and style. As a multi-instrumentalist, 35bag pushes his analog sound to the limits while adding polished digital touches to his songs. – Angela Blanca
shows we love :: little dragon at lpr / review

On Saturday November 21st Little Dragon performed at one of NYC premiere live venues, Le Poisson Rouge, located in the West Village. This was LD’s third time playing this venue and it is apparent that their popularity has grown tremendously. The crowd was enthusiastic and completely in the moment. I was fortunate enough to catch all 3 of the NY shows in the last year. This was their best showing thus far. The band was rock solid and lead singer Yukimi Nagano’s voice was as smooth as silk. Little Dragon’s sound is refreshing and just what their fans needed. Can’t wait to catch them the next time they are in town. Text & photos by guest blogger Alaric S. Campbell (www.alaricphoto.com)
shows we love :: little dragon @ lpr 11/21
One of our favorite bands, Little Dragon returns to NYC this weekend performing new tracks from their album, Machine Dreams. I’ve been loving this new record. It reminds me of the new wave, electro sounds I used to love as a teenager but with more sophistication & thoughtful lyrics.Little Dragon will be joining Scribe from the “I Love Vinyl” party, Re:Redux & Crystal Fighters. If you’re in the City, please don’t miss out on this one. Buy tickets here.
Sat., November 21, 2009 / 11:00pm at Le Poisson Rouge

sites we love :: the mixtape club

We all love mixtapes, so when our friend Jeff Staple posted a link to one he had mixed, we quickly made our way to the music. A click later we found ourselves at “The Mixtape Club.” The concept was simple- Ten people, ten tracks, ten album covers each dedicated to the art of the mixtape. There’s nothing we love more than exploring new sounds and new bands with the occasional random joint you just needed to hear again. Give it a try, we’re sure you’ll love what you hear…
