When we first heard that Marc & Sara Schiller of Wooster Collective were curating a book on urban art for Taschen, we new it would be comprehensive but we never imagined it would connect four generations of works from around the world. This collaborative effort with author, Carlo McCormick, and editor, Ethel Seno, “examines the rise and global reach of graffiti and urban art, tracing key figures, events and movements of self-expression in the city’s social space, and the history of urban reclamation, protest, and illicit performance.” The 320 pages include major works by the contemporary stars of the street art scene as well as unpublished works and photographs by the likes of Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Martha Cooper. We LOVE the ‘leaf through’ feature giving us a sneak peak.
Tonight, enjoy a Trespass book signing at the Taschen shop in Beverly Hills. Please visit their event page to rsvp. – Moni Pineda
