Artists We Love :: Supakitch & Koralie

In this brilliant video, we see the French art duo of Supakitch & Koralie create a most beautiful mural. If you’re fascinated after watching them work, check out their latest venture, Metroplastique. Their “about us” section could easily be the Friends We Love story. I could relate to it all with a smiling heart and tears of joy…

Artists We Love :: NUNCA (Profile by Manifesto)

Here’s a dope little profile by the cats at Manifesto on one of my favorite artists out of Sao Paulo, Brazil – NUNCA. This video shows NUNCA getting busy busting out a BIG ASS mural of a body surfer getting it in! Nice to hear his thoughts on life, art and ideas on the future. – Jaws Truly

Films We Love :: Up There

Films We Love :: Up There

Amongst all the street art, billboards, and posters coloring the walls of New York City, Malcom Murray’s short film Up There profiles the hard working men and women who are keeping one of New York’s oldest traditions alive: hand painted advertisements. This beautifully shot twelve minute documentary tells the story of the men and women who risk their lives painting ads above our city streets. And their work is pretty amazing if you ask me. Check it out, and you’ll have a whole new look on what it takes to put up these towering murals

Artists We Love :: Shepard Fairey's Mural in NYC

Mid afternoon on Tuesday, April 20, as we sat in our studio working on our laptops, we saw that @obeygiant was starting a mural on the “Haring” wall on Houston & Bowery. We were wondering what would go up next since we’d seen the wall painted white a couple of days before. (The good thing is that Os Gemeos is still there. This wall is actually a much bigger wall built on top of the concrete “Haring” wall.)

Needless to say we quickly got on our bikes, took our camera set off to check out the work in progress. It’s not every day that you see a mural of this size executed and I must say it was well worth it. Here’s some pics from the day & look out for a video coming soon.
