Music We Love :: Quadron – Simili Life

Music We Love :: Quadron - Simili Life

Attention all Quadron fans and soon-to-be ones as well, the dynamic duo from Sweeden just released a new video exclusively for the Sounds of VTech. The video was directed/edited by Melinda James and produced by About Her Films. The video follows a beautiful young lady dealing with the all-mighty swing of the break-up axe. Rather than going Rambo, she wanders the city introspectively. Moral of the story: When relationships turn off, life goes on.

Videos We Love :: Mayer Hawthorne

This playful video for Mayer Hawthorne’s “Your Easy Lovin’ Ain’t Pleasin’ Nothin’” from last September’s A Strange Arrangement features a gaggle of lovely ladies doing an impressively arranged dance number, frolicking around a Laurel Canyon-esque backyard while Hawthorne does a slightly less-impressive series of dances on the outskirts, serenading. Make sure to take notice of the cool camera work (the whole video is a single shot). The perfect remedy for the blues and blahs of a hot day. -Mac Smullen

Music Videos We Love :: Kanye West - Street Lights

Another fantastic collaboration between Kanye West + Spike Jonze. Since recently acquiring our own Canon 7D our appreciation for timelapse photography has jumped 10 fold. This video is a truly beautiful example of how wonderful + magical the power of the technique can be when put in the right hands. Side note the video was also co-directed by Jonathan Bensimon.

music/videos we love :: mos def ft. talib kweli - history

It’s been really inspiring to watch Mos Def grow as an artist, performer, actor and force of nature. The man exudes all the characteristics of someone doing exactly what’s he’s been put on this earth to do- Create. Progress. Challenge. This beautiful video reunites Mos with fellow Black Star, Talib Kweli. Can’t lie, we just love seeing these two at it again.

music videos we love :: gnarls barkley - who's gonna save my soul + who cares + going on

We love it when a band abandons all conventions and exchanges “labels” and “norms” for progression and freedom. For us, in many ways that band is Gnarls Barkley. Whether you’re a fan or not, you simply can’t deny their creative genius + fearless approach to the creative process- Especially when it comes to their music videos. We strongly feel in the end it all comes down to a matter claiming responsibility of what you want to hear, see and feel. We strongly agree these three videos do a great job of exemplifying absolute creative freedom, what do you think?
