Musicians We Love :: Franny Glass
I traveled to Montevideo for the first time several years ago for an informal arts exchange (mainly with hip-hop heads) and Gonzalo Deniz, aka Franny Glass, popped up in a MySpace search of Uruguayan artists. There wasn’t anything remotely hip-hop about his profile, but I wasn’t fazed. Franny Glass is a character in my favorite book, Franny and Zooey, by J.D. Salinger; I was confident he couldn’t suck.

It’s exciting to see that there are even more gems to be found in Sweden. A young, fresh producer by the name of 35bag is continuing the recent onslaught of soul with his dope productions and style. As a multi-instrumentalist, 35bag pushes his analog sound to the limits while adding polished digital touches to his songs. – Angela Blanca

s MySpace becoming the hot new way to release entertainment exclusives? If the past few weeks are any indication, the answer might just be yes.
Earlier this month, the site debuted the trailer for the Michael Jackson documentary – This Is It – and last week, MySpace was first to publish the track list for the New Moon soundtrack.
Today, MySpace features the exclusive debut of the trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street, and in just under a day, it has already amassed more than one million video views.
MySpace’s strategy to rebrand as an entertainment portal seems to be pushing forward, with solid exclusives specifically designed to appeal to their core users. With another exclusive hit on their hands, we have to wonder, has MySpace finally found their place as Facebook continues to extend its dominance in the social networking realm?
