Designers We Love :: Stephen Burks

I met Stephen a few years ago, always dancing and smiling on the dance floor. In 2007 I remember he sent out an email sharing some recent press and I quickly visited his site Readymade Projects to take a closer look. Needless to say I was thoroughly impressed. Since then, he’s continued to travel the world for inspiration, collaborations & exhibitions. We hope to soon profile him on Friends We Love to better understand his creative process and future works.

Sites We Love :: iPad Peek

If you weren’t one of the 700,00 people who ran out this weekend to throw down 500 clams for a new iPad, don’t worry you’re not alone. Many, including us, have decided to pass on the first cycle of this game changing phenomenon and wait for the 2.0 version. In the meantime, software apps have been popping up faster than a boner on chatroullete – One of the coolest iPad sites we’ve seen thus far, which speaks to us, as it should for all those creating web content is the iPad Peek. Videos We Love :: Timelapse Painting, Pat Perry

We’re into timelapse, great artists & seeing the creative process. Here’s a couple of videos of artist Pat Perry getting it in. If you like what you see, make sure you take a look at the rest of his work on his site. I’m also digging the photos he posts on his blog. He would definitely be a fun artist to feature on FWL.

Press We Love :: FWL on Pharrell's Kidult.com

Friends We Love is on the front page of Pharrell’s Kidult website! The article was written by Lee Hernandez and is featured in the “Cool Job” section. If you haven’t heard about Kidult, take some time to look around the site. It’s a good resource for not only young adults but also educators & parents.

Read the whole article here, but in the meantime, an excerpt: “Moni Pineda & Mike Vargas love their friends. In fact, they love them so much that they dedicated their careers to them. In mid-2008 they started a website called Friendswelove.com to showcase the talents of their artist friends in New York City. Two years later, the site—which features on camera interviews with a range of artists, including singers, actors and painters—is now popular all over the world. Moni and Mike spoke to Kidult about starting their site, plus they offered advice to young people who want to follow in their creative footsteps.”
