Legends We Love :: Mark Gonzales – Circle Board in Paris

What’s one to do after pioneering street skateboarding for over 20 years? I know…You bolt 9 skateboards into perfect circle, buy a plane ticket to Paris, wait for the magic hour to strike and then you go and shoot one helluva beautiful video to show the rest of the world- Yeah this is what legends do. What’d you do today? Mark Gonzales We Love!!!
Music Videos We Love :: Snoop Dogg – I Wanna Rock G-Mix Ft. Jay-Z

I was gonna post this yesterday, but I thought what better way to start off a sunny weekend than with a BANGER. Snoop + Jay-Z most definitely deliver the goods. I’m loving this video + this beat is BANANASSSS! Crazy how much this video reminded me of my youth- Hip-Hop + Dancing + Arcades + Skateboarding. Nuff said. Enjoy!
commercials we love :: mike carroll’s hangover flip – lakai limited footwear

Check out this really fun and interesting interpretation on the “kickflip” produced by one of our homeboys Alex Grazioli for Lakai Footwear featuring the man, the myth, Mike Carroll.
videos we love :: mike vallely’s farewell to the bk banks 2010

Here’s a short + heartfelt video by pro skateboarder Mike Valley saying goodbye to one of his favorite skate spots, The Brooklyn Banks. For many who may not know, beneath the Brooklyn Bridge (on the Manhattan side) lies on of the most coveted skate spots the world has ever known. For many skaters, it’s a destination “you must” skate before you die.
shows we love :: maestro knows

Every now and then we come across a great new video series we can’t share fast enough. Levi Maestro’s “Maestro Knows” is that kind of video series. We came across it a couple of months back when Jeff Staple posted a video Levi made while in Japan on his blog. From there we watched one after another after another. We just loved Levi’s approach to how he documents both his travels and his subjects, which in most cases are his friends, lending the series a very natural flow. Here’s a few of our fav’s, take a look….
artists we love :: mark gonzales – 10/16 – franklin parrasch gallery

Franklin Parrasch Gallery is pleased to present Round N’ Round – an exhibition which includes the premier of a new film and sculpture, as well as drawings, poems and correspondences by Mark Gonzales. Gonzales, who has been skateboarding professionally since he was a teenager is a prime mover in bringing the inherently improvisational, free-ranging attitude manifested in skateboarding’s engagement with the built and graphic environment to a wider audience. Gonzales’s work has been exhibited internationally, and his skating has been documented by Spike Jonze among other filmmakers.
skaters we love :: richie jackson + robbie russo
Skateboarding has seen many highs and lows since it’s early sidewalk surfing days in California. It’s hard to imagine a teenager today who doesn’t skate or has a friend who does, religiously. A couple of years ago I had the pleasure to work as a videographer at the X-Games and had my mind blown back. [...]
