AARON ABLVN’S latest show, “100 Painitings” at the Klughaus Gallery is a blast from the past. This past Saturday was the opening for “100 Paintings” by the Portland, Oregon-based artist and cartoonist encompassing more than 100 pieces dedicated to his influences and his love of cartoons.

One of our favorite Friends We Love, Ellis Gallagher, is having a solo exhibit, Indelibly Ephermeral, at Adjust Gallery in the in downtown Miami. He’ll be showing a wide range of his work, incorporating installation, photography, screen prints, originals and paintings. The opening coincides with the Wynwood Arts District Second Saturdays Art Walk on April 9th and includes music, live art for a great night.

Musgrove’s work takes place in an alternate reality where extinct creatures are forever immortalized in their environments through beautifully executed oils and watercolors.

The best part of embarking on a web series about art is meeting new artists. About a year ago I came across an article in New York Magazine about a young crazy razor blade swinging street artist. His name was Poster Boy. Luckily for me the article included his Flickr page and away I went clicking. After seeing a pretty impressive body of work all created out of subway adverts, I decided to reach out.

The work of Ron English is subversive, satirical “popaganda” in all its forms. Whether it’s his appropriation of billboards, his paintings, graphics, collage or songs, he always comes correct. We recently saw a documentary on his life & work, “POPaganda,” a term he coined to describe his art.
